A boolean switch is treated as on whenever its variable is non-empty or coerces to true, instead of when it holds the actual 'on' value. An explicit off such as 0 or the string 'false' turns the switch on, and the system reports the setting as applied.
The feature variable is set to the string 'false' in the environment; the code checks only that it is non-empty and enables the feature.
Not empty and missing values collapsing into one (Empty states lose their meaning); the misread value is non-empty and flips the switch on.
No published story mentions this species yet. When a hunter publishes one after catching it, it appears here.
